In a fast moving world where people are always on the move and everyone’s looking for tldr’s, Summary is the goto app for getting all your favorite content, condensed. Its a mix of content publishing and sharing to let people share their thoughts in a concise fashion and follow their favorite users and topics to get summaries instead of drudging on long boring articles. Not only that, since its a sharing platform, users can also leverage the platform to share news and build event timelines. These use cases were used as motivation for further feasibility study of this idea. A basic set of app screens were designed keeping the publishing and social aspect of app in place.
Arosha Afridi is a graphic design major based out of Harrisonburg, Virginia. Being an artist in the making, Arosha needed her online portfolio to be flexible enough to display the full range of her work. Therefore, the neutrality of theme and easy categorisation were the main focus during the UX design. Simplicity of theme also paves way for artwork to outshine other components of the website by grabbing user’s focus against simple background and minimal noise. Considering the fact that it was more important to draw user’s attention to individual artworks rather than creating a visual overload, large imagery was used in portfolio section.
COVID-19 has brought with it a surge of misinformation. And with the constant stress on stats and mounting numbers, the information outlets and content sharing platforms often paint a very apocalyptic picture of the world. With so much misinformation and depression, finding reasonable and scientifically valid information can be like looking for a needle through a haystack for some. This was the motivation behind building COVID-19 curator, a microsite for curating valid bits of information, collected from the internet. Since the goal was to give up noise in favor of reason, a clean design needed to be an ambassador of this motivation as well.
HireNinja is a platform for companies to find vetted software developers. Once a developer signs up, the app takes her through a series of steps where she can add her work experiences, education, and portfolio. To be eligible to apply for jobs, developers are required to pass HireNinja’s coding tests, after which they become a part of vetted developer pool that member companies can choose from. The platform also allows companies to manage their hiring pipelines, hire developers from a select pool based on their subscription plans, and can have prolonged access to their preferred developers for future hirings.
